Introduction
Project Overview
Arrowstreet Capital (Arrowstreet) is an American investment management firm based in Boston with over US$170 billion (March 2023) assets under management. The clients website was not indicative of this and required a redesign.
Project Objective
- Redesign the existing Arrowstreet Capital website, with parallel focus on website redesign & modernization and Human Resources content.
- Build and rollout the new website designs using WordPress.
- Use the opportunity of the redesign to make improvements to align to:
- Branding update and facelift.
- Modernization and alignment to web standards (layout, font sizes, responsiveness, accessibility, speed, search).
- Content / messaging additions – especially Human Resources content.
- Setup for potential phase 2.
Challenges
- This was my first time working on this type of project. I was initially assigned to the project in a support capacity but my Design Lead wanted me to take on a more lead role which I was not accustomed too which forced me outside of my comfort zone.
- I struggled with presenting to the client during discovery calls but the longer I did it, the more at ease I became.
- Delays in content being provided by the client affected the design direction.
- The client communicated their dislikes however they were not clear on their expectations or requirements.
